First sequel to the hit 1990 Movie, the monsters are back again, only this time they have a surprise waiting for our Heroes. We are reunited with some of the first movies cast. Fred Ward is back playing Earl Basset and Michael Gross makes his first reappearance to the series as Burt Gummer. There are some new characters added to the mix this time around. Earl is now paired up with a young chap by the name of Grady as they go worm hunting. The worms have resurfaced at an Mexican Oil field and it is up to them to rid the area of the underground menace. It’s not long thought until the worms turn into an even deadlier force, known as Shriekers. This film carries many of the qualities that made the first film so much fun. One element that is missing that many fans believe makes this film a, little lesser is that there is nothing at stake here, just an oil field, unlike in the first one when the whole town was at stake and their lives. But it’s still fun and the scene leading up to the new monsters revealing is very well crafter and for people who don’t it’s coming will be pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed this sequel and all it’s tie in to the original. When you really look at it this movie is really different from the first but yet it really works in a way that you won’t even notice this. Originally it was pictured with a much bigger budget and was supposed to go to theaters, but Universal soon cut down on this. Bug budgeted or not lovers of the original and any other fans will be greatly pleased with this sequel. Followed by Tremors 3: back To Perfection.
