As it seems the first Sleepaway Camp became popular enough with people that it actually had the power to get a sequel made to it, but then again what movie in the 80’s didn’t have a sequel to it. Just another quick money scheme. Angela is all grown up now, although she is played by another actor, Pamela Springsteen, who surprisingly enough is Bruce Springsteen’s younger sister. So what is she doing in this kind of movie? Anyway she makes here return to summer camp under another identity where thing soon get out of control is Angela goes back to her old ways. Surprisingly nothing about Angela’s sexuality is mention here, just a little snippet in the beginning retelling what happened in the earlier movie. Pamela’s acting is over the top being the best way to put it. I don’t if she is just over acting, exited to be doing that, or crazy in real life but her performance comes off as really cheesy, enough to overshadow the rest of the cheesiness of the other movies. One thing that the Sleepaway Camp movie have been marketed, for is gore, only problem is that there is none. There wasn’t even that much in the first one. The third movie is the one that got into the most trouble with censors but the second one also had some cuts but nothing really needed to be cut. What gore that is here is so badly done it might as well be looked at as to stupid to be explicit. Sadly the first one shined because it was so bad it was actually quite enjoyable on another level. The sequel however is much worse in a sense and that doesn’t make it any funnier. Where the first one was a riot this one is a bore. Followed by Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland.
