Sequel to the 1987 smash movie starring Arnold Schwarzenneger, this one trys to go for being the exact opposite of the original but at the same time have as much action and gore as the first. This is immediatly noticable as the first one was set out in the jungle while the sequel takes place in future LA, 1997, to be exact. In this "future city" crime has run amoke and drug gangs are begining to take over the city. Stuck somewhere in the middle of this is a small band of the police force led by Danny Glover. During a standoff in town a group of drug dealers are savagly killed and hung from the ceiling. Not long after this it happens again to another gang. Soon one of the members of the police force is murdered and Danny bows revenge on the killer. There is also a sub plot about a group of goverment agents out to capture the creature for Studying. This all leads down to the end in the Predtor spacship which tries to clear up the mystery behind the creatures. Predator 2 is not a bad sequel to the original at all, although it still is a lesser movie then the first. The biggest regret is predator 2 tries to do what the first one did so well, blend action and horror movies togther. But this makes more a mess then anything. Also, an interesting not is watch the scene where he is in the spacship, and the trophy plague containing all the skulls. If you look closely at the plaque you will see an Alien creature skull from the Alien movies, thus hinting to this years upcoming Alien vs predator.
