Howling 2 Review

Howling 2

One can only ask what went wrong when viewing the sequel to the very successful and well made film The Howling. It’s the first in a long line of not so splendid sequels, and this one can be blamed for starting the whole trend of the series. I’ll be truthful, this movie was so boring at the time of viewing I don’t remember to much plot and story wise, characters included, but it does go something like this. A group of people, three to be exact, wind up in Transylvania on the hunt for a group of werewolves. The travelers consist of a Psychic type person played by Christopher Lee, and a women who’s sister was murdered by one of the werewolves and her boyfriend. The script is so weak it seems like their isn’t one while some scene just seem to be mish mashed together. There is a good cult following for this film for different reasons, the biggest being the Queen of the Werewolves, Sybil Danning, who seems to rip her cloths off about every other scene. I know your all probably going how is the film werewolf wise, and I have to say it does have a god wolf count, probably bigger then the rest of the films to follow in the series. Some of the werewolf is cheesy while others stick out. Not much here transformation wise except for one scene with the queen that most will find very odd and even disturbing on a sense. Cult following aside this is a very good movie on many levels., but it does deliver the good though on a werewolf basis. Followed by five sequels, few of them being any better then this offering.
