Here’s another film from Artisan Entertainment that just barely makes it as a horror film. Of course, following in that tradition the box, or the cover art as you may call it, shows a pair of eyes with some sort of white mask on holding a knife. The thing is though, in the actual movie, the so called killer doesn’t use a mask, instead he uses a face mask (the type you where when going skiing and such). Also he doesn’t really bother to use a Axe in this one, but prefers to strangle his victims to death. The real kicker is at two of the crime scenes there is the person who was killer’s final exam form High School, with the word FAILED on it in big red letters. May I also mention that there is no blood in this movie, well at least there is in one scene but that doesn’t begin to make up for anything. This film also lacks from inconsistency. The film opens with a going over a bridge, to a cop chase, to a police department, then finally to Hawaii for a photo shoot. The movie then tries to connect all these together (except for the police chase) but after awhile it makes so sense at all. Did I mention all the excess sex/ nude scenes?. Their everywhere here, and they have not a thing to do with the story but they all take up a good five minutes a piece. They even went as far as to stuck one in the middle of the climax. Speaking of the ending, to make things worse, the movie contains around four different endings. Just as you think (and hope) that the movie is going to end something else pops up into the picture and it starts allover again, and then it does this like three more times before the final credits roll! Acting wise it’s the same, a bunch of teens who you’ll never see in another movie running around for no reason. All I can say is no matter what mood your in or for whatever reason don’t bother with this movie. All it will accomplish is turning off all your sense until you can’t even remember what you did right before the movie began, and leave you with a headache.
