Dog Soldiers Review

Dog Soldiers

There have been very few horror films that have had this big on an impact on the genre is recent years. Of course it’s a British film that played on the Sci-Fi channel for it’s premiere. It’s Night Of The Living Dead only much better and the dead are gone in place of a pack, or family as it is later revealed of werewolves. This film also has guts, and I mean a lot of guts. Of course I’m talking about the gore quotient and this film will not disappoint. It’s one of the bloodiest films to come out in recent years, in terms of not holding back in fright of censorship and such obstacles films today are so afraid of. But at no time with the gore do they go excessively overboard to the point of cheesiness. There is one hilarious scene that is very well done without taking any of the suspense away from the other happenings on the same scene. It involves a dog and a poor guys intestine and I think you can figure out how they go together. Also Beneficial is the superb acting displayed here by the actors, most of whom are new to the scene. This film excels in all areas and never misses a beat. You don’t even have to love or be a big fan of the werewolf genre to appreciate this film. The werewolf’s are equally threatening when shown in full form. Very well crafted effects although they do seem to be sort of still when shown in full view. This film is such a hit that a sequel is being worked on, at the moment it is titled Dog Soldiers 2: Fresh Meat.
