Oh no another remake, it’s what we were all thinking when this came out. Another stupid remake that’s just gonna mess everything up. Well that’s statement is half right, or maybe it is ¾ right in a way. Which mean, yes, they did mess quite a bit of stuff up in this movie. Hardcore fans of the original will be very displeased with some stuff as well. First thing I have to get off my chest is zombies o not run!!! In sense they shouldn’t even be able to walk!! Plus once effect with the virus by being bitten by another zombie t takes longer then a couple seconds to turn into one of them, it’s more like a day. Also animals ARE capable of becoming zombies. There is no off limits for zombies, if they get a hold of animals zombies will eat them. So why this dog in the movie gets away with everything I have no clue. Plus that dog messes everything up in the movie anyway so it would probably be better if it does anyway. The premise is the first as the first one, for the first two thirds of the movie!! In this version they go A Team style and turn a couple vans into death machines and leave the mall in search of a boat so they can go to an island. Well I’m glad to say that plan didn’t work out. Stay after the end during the credits and you will see what I mean. Now your probably asking is there any good parts to the movie? Well, yes, there is some. Mostly the gore, which is plenty here, and for the brief second that it’s on the screen you feel like this is a true a zombie film from the 80’s. And believe it or not, even though most of it is in the wrong direction, the directing for this movie is pretty strong as well. Another thing that bothers me, along with a lot of other horror films today, is all the stupid comedy relief. It has No place in horror movies today. Get it out, it doesn’t belong here. What’s sad though is most of the kids who see this today will think it’s the best thing they’ve seen, and then you ask them if you have seen if they have seen the original and they have no clue what your talking about. That’s why the remakes need to stop. Plain and simple they need to stop. There are only 3 remakes that is only 3 remakes that I can think of that have been better then the originals, those being night Of the Living dead ’90, The Thing, and the new TCM, if you can believe that.
