Faithful Edgar Allen Poe adaptation, starring legend Vincent Price and directed by Rodger Corman who was on top of his game at the time. The simple storyline of a prisoner being tortured as the blade swings closer and closer to his body has been expanded into superb full length film.
Made to appeal more to kids then the adult, this Irwin Allen production still is a visually excellent fantasy. Their mission to fire a missile to put out a world fire is sabotaged when problems occur during the voyage. What results is a colorfully appealing adventure.
